For all those who live alone, or your partner works away a lot: emergency services often have trouble finding your next of kin if an accident occurs. Please put a note on a kitchen noticeboard or somewhere obvious in your home stating ‘next of kin, their name, their relationship to you, their address and their telephone number’. Also make it clear whose next of kin details they are for by putting your name and date of birth on it. This will help them be contacted quicker. At present it can take weeks to find them, and that is too long in emergencies.
